NewsFirst Anniversary Ball Moray Business Women held its First Anniversary Ball in November 2007, with the theme of 007 for 2007, and over 80 guests joined in the fun of the evening, dancing away to The Anne Dickson Band or spending hard earned cash in the Charity Casino. Jo Maunder of Ark Childcare Limited was presented with the First Moray Business Women of the Year Award receiving a cheque for £500 and a gift as a memento. The award was kindly being sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland. During the night various fundraisers were held and a grand total of £1,120 has been raised for Moray Business Women's Charity of the Year - Moray Young Carers Charity 2007 We are delighted to announce that our charity for 2007 - Moray Young Carers, was presented with £2,500.00 as a result of our first year's fundraising. The charity for 2008 is the Moray Women's Refuge. Meeting Update Our May meeting was held at the Sunninghill Hotel and everyone agreed that it was a super evening. Wildhearts - The Wolf Trek This message was sent on behalf of Mick Jackson, the founder and chairman of WildHearts - a unique charity that launches businesses to combat poverty. Mick has spoken about WildDay Out, their events company that promotes sport and healthy living through fun outdoor challenges and events. The next event is the WildHearts Wolf Trek. This will take place on 9th/10th August 2008. The Wolf Trek is a 45 mile walk from historic Dallas Dhu Distillery all the way to Cairngorm Mountain. This route is stunning and will be an inspiration to all who take part in the trek. Moray Chamber of Commerce is hosting a lunch at the Craigellachie Hotel on 3rd July, 12 for 12:30. The guest speaker will be Tanya Hine, National President of the British Association of Women Entrepreneurs (BAWE). Not only is Tanya a mover and shaker, she is also a grandmother and will base her talk on " a new generation of grandmothers", providing us with information on why she is more likely to be locked in a boardroom or speaking at a conference than gardening or watching television!
